Hoxton Boutique - Hoxton Street

I felt that this boutique was situated in a nice part of town, it was opposite a super stylish bar and just a stones throw away from Start. The thing that caught my eye was the intriguing window display. As a shop it has a reputation for these interesting displays. It was installed by ‘small is beautiful’ designs. It is simplistic but looks very unique. The exterior of the shop is painted white and there is not much detail at all apart from the windows and the sign, it has an urban feel about it.
As you make your way in to the shop you are bombarded by old french posters covering the walls, this instantly makes the atmosphere informal and relaxed. Inside there is a lot to take in. As well as lights and mirrors all over the walls there are desks and mix matched furniture displaying accessories, hats etc and rails filled with refreshingly new creations from designers all over the world. It is a shop that is committed to stocking only unique and interesting labels. They also have new stock arriving all the time so there is always something new to see each time you visit. +HOBO+ is their in house label which features lots of prints.
This was a shop that I really liked. The clothes were very reasonably priced and there was such a unique range. I think it appeals mainly to younger people. Although it had a relaxed atmosphere, as soon as I saw the staff that worked there it completely changed it for me. They made me very uncomfortable as if I was not the type of person that they want in their store. I think it is a very odd thing. I think it is because even though the clothes are not expensive, they still want to attract a high end customer. I think this is a bad way of working and everyone should be able to shop where they want and feel comfortable doing so. (Giovanna)
